Desktop Editing and Conversion Software

EDIUS 6 nonlinear editing software is designed to meet the requirements of both a broadcast production environment and the independent editor requiring the highest quality, ease of use, and fastest finishing possible.

EDIUS 6 comes with support for a new proxy-based workflow and support for export in MXF formats to servers and professional file-based devices such as P2/XDCAM/GF and Canon XF.

EDIUS 6 software also includes many new features such as 10-bit editing support, 2K/4K support, free shape mask filter, and 16-camera multicam editing. EDIUS continues to be the world's fastest editor when mixing formats such as MPEG-2, H.264, and DVCPRO all on the same timeline. EDIUS is WYSIWYG, seeing the full image preview while preserving the original image quality, with no loss of resolution or frame rate. EDIUS enables real-time playback of three or more streams without special hardware (verified in Grass Valley tests on computers with the latest Intel CPU).

Incorporating all of the real-time editing capabilities and features included with EDIUS Neo, EDIUS software also provides support for virtually all industry-standard equipment and formats, including the new Canon XF format and Canon EOS movie format. Supported input formats include P2, XDCAM, GF, AVCCAM, NXCAM, QuickTime, and Windows Media. It also supports all DV and HDV cameras and decks and 3D post production.

Featuring unrivaled video transcoding technology, EDIUS software performs conversion between different HD and SD resolutions, aspect ratios, and frame rates—all in real time. It also features real-time playback of all effects, keyers, transitions, and titles, and can export projects to any format or medium, including Blu-ray Disc and DVD video.

ProCoder 3 software has an array of high-performance features, including a design that efficiently leverages the power of your CPU, broad codec support, local and networked use capabilities to fit your workflow, and queue management to ensure your jobs are performed in just the right order.

For IP distribution, Grass Valley™ offers MEDIAEDGE®, a multi-channel, multi-location HD/SD video-over-IP system that delivers both standard-definition and high-definition video using standard TCP/IP networks to SD/HD display devices. It allows you to deliver content via video-on-demand (VOD), scheduled playback, and live broadcast.

Flexible and modular, the system follows industry standards such as the Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL) protocol to manage digital signage content across hundreds of displays. It also includes software for content management.

The MEDIAEDGE line is ideal for point-of-sale, corporate, and other video retrieval and digital signage applications. Its family of products includes MEDIAEDGE Server Software, the MEDIAEDGE Set-Top Box, MEDIAEDGE Client Software Player, MEDIAEDGE Encoders, MEDIAEDGE LSB Encapsulator, MEDIAEDGE Display Content Manager software, and the HDMA4100 and HDMA4000Sync video players.

For the storage, playback, and IP distribution of media files, the T2 iDDR is a complete and self-contained SD and HD audio/video playout center. Featuring extensive rear-panel audio/video connectivity, the T2 iDDR can accept files via USB 2.0, or by data transfer over a standard Gigabit Ethernet network. The T2 iDDR also accepts media from other applications including HQAVI, MPEG-2, QuickTime, Windows Media Video HD, JPEG, TIFF, TARGA, and BMP files. With the T2 iDDR, you can exchange content at high speed over a network or via removable media, such as SSD through USB, FireWire (IEEE 1394), or the dedicated 2.5-inch HDD/SSD slot. The T2 iDDR has two playout channels for independent editing and previewing, or for delivering content to two different display systems simultaneously.
