Ben Allan ACS has posted a fantastic review of the ATOMOS Ninja at The Film Bakery Blog!
Read for yourself, but here's the introduction to get you started:
It was very recent times when a high-end, HD data recorder meant something with a lot of digits in the price tag, a bunch of heavy road cases and a specialist operator. Things have definitely changed on that front. The Ninja is one of a new breed of data recorders that promise to be real gamer changers for the industry. The Ninja basically puts 10 Bit images with low compression using Apple’s bullet-proof ProRes codec into the back of an on-board LCD monitor.
The first impression on opening the box is of a very professional piece of kit. It comes in a pelican-style case with custom foam interior in the dense, professional grade foam. The unit itself is extremely compact but solid in construction.
